Sean Corby produced Millington with a strong run inside the final furlong to claim the apprentice handicap at Naas.

The Ken Condon-trained gelding swooped on the outer to take closer order a furlong out and soon stayed on to hit the front.

He kept on well in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter success over 25/1 shot Corker Hill The 7/1 winner was making his handicap debut.

“I'm delighted for Ray (Doyle). He's home-bred and Ray has been a great supporter of the yard for quite a while,” said Condon.

“He's a big tall slow maturing horse. It's only his fifth start and last time he showed signs of improvement, all be it in a claiming race.

“Sean took his time and judged it well. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too severe on him and he might win another one.”

Aidan O'Brien's youngest son Donnacha had his first ride in public in the race but was out of luck as Our Manekineko struggled and eventually beat only one home.

The Tote's Pick 6 reached a pool of €89,197.50 but the only unit in the race was going on to favourite Eljowzah who finished sixth.

The pool will now be carried over to the opening card at Galway next Monday.
