Cullen/Flanagan strike at Thurles

Fri 26th Feb 2010, 16:57

The Michael Cullen trained Would You Do That under Sean Flanagan, caused a 14/1 upset when taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase at Thurles today.

Flanagan who was in rear for most made rapid headway approaching the third last. The pair were soon on terms and kept on well to lead at last for a five length win over By The Hour

A delighted Cullen said afterwards: "To be honest I didn't think we'd any chance today in the ground. She had a great run the first day and hasn't been right since."

"We will probably go for the Mares Listed Race in Limerick on St Patrick's Day next. I'm delighted for the owner as he has been so unlucky and so patient."

Our resident tipster tipped the 14/1 shot, stating that a "reproduction of the Wexford run behind Aranleigh would be good enough to win this contest".
