Ecoeye stuck on best to land the spoils under Gary Halpin in the Supervalu's Roscommon Apprentice Handicap this evening. The Ice Meister soon hit the front in the seven furlong contest and was clear after a couple of furlongs.
He came back to the field passing the two pole, however, and was collared by 11/4 shot Ecoeye inside the final furlong.
Austin Leahy 's gelding kept on gamely to record a three-parts-of-a-length victory over Queen Zain
2/1 favourite Botanical Lady could only finish fourth after meeting some traffic problems on the rail.
Leahy said:- " I shouldn't have run him on quick ground at Limerick the last time. He loves a cut in the ground. They went a good gallop and Gary gave him a good ride."
