The Peter Casey trained Rose Angel showed the benefit of first-time blinkers when winning the Ireland v England Stablestaff Soccer International Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk this evening, under Robbie Downey.

The daughter of Dark Angel, previously successful twice but the latest being just under a year ago, quickened well inside the final furlong for a comfortable win over Beat The Ballot

Afterwards Peter Casey junior stated “the blinkers made a difference and she got cover today and was able to work her way through horses.

“She rolled around a bit the last day when she was stuck out wide.”
