Joseph O’Brien had a one-two in the opening Children Under 14 Race For Free Maiden Hurdle with 5/4 favourite Front View coming home a length and three quarters in front of hurdling debutant Uhtred (15/2).

Willie Mullins’ French import Jon Snow (6/4) travelled strongly for a long way before settling for third in the end another five lengths away.

The winner led before three out and, although a bit novicey over the last two flights, found plenty to assert on the run-in after his stablemate looked a threat running to the last.

The winning grey, by German-bred sire Konig Tiger, ran second to Blue Sari on his bumper debut on Thyestes day at Gowran before winning at the Punchestown Festival.

He finished second to the impressive Envoi Allen on his hurdles debut at Down Royal earlier in the month.

“He has a lot of ability, said winning rider JJ Slevin.

“He missed one or two along the way but did it well and is a fair horse.

“He showed a nice bit last year and today he picked up well, has a lot of speed and he is an exciting horse."
