Trainer Mags Mullins and jockey son Danny Mullins combined to win the opening www.wexfordraces.ie Maiden Hurdle at Wexford today, with Get Smart (6/1).

The son of Oscar was produced to lead past Play The Part after the second last and in the end proved two lengths too strong for 11/8 favourite Sharps Choice

Trainer Mullins, whose previous runner Thegreatestreward made a taking debut at Limerick last Saturday, later said “"I'm delighted with that and he is improving the whole time.

“He might be a horse for some of those lower novices. How good a race it was, I don't know but he is not doing anything wrong and is improving away.

“He is owned by an Italian man Daniel Furini who has mares with George Williams and he asked me would I take him.”

Get Smart was a 1960/1970s American comedy television series that satirised the secret agent genre and featured Maxwell Smart, a.k.a. Agent 86, who works for CONTROL, a Washington, D.C.-based counterintelligence agency.
