Grapevine Sally another for bookmakers

Sat 23rd Aug 2008, 17:07

Edward O'Grady's Grapevine Sally won the Bank Of Ireland Novice Chase at Tralee today, helping to further stuff bookmakers' satchels.

The opening four races were won by two 25/1 shots, a 10/1 and 7/1 winner while numerous well backed horse were overturned, including Grapevine Sally's immediate victim, Artiste Bay (3/1 - 2/1f).

Trainer Edward O'Grady was absent but Grapevine Sally's rider and O'Grady's stable jockey Andrew McNamara did state "the race turned into a sprint which suited Grapevine Sally as she has a bit of 'toe'. The ground wasn't too heavy because this was the first chase of the day and we were racing on the freshest part."
