Eugene O'Sullivan, better known in jumping circles, sent out his third career Flat winner at Tramore today, winning the 1912-2012 Tramore Racecourse Centenary Handicap with Habesh (5/2), on its second start for the Co Cork trainer.

The son of Rock Of Gibraltar was sent straight into the lead by Gary Carroll and while he came under pressure in the dip, stayed on well under pressure inside the final furlong to comfortably beat Arabella.

O'Sullivan, who was leading Point to Point handler in 2007/08, was not present but Carroll said “nothing else wanted to make the running so I decided to make it at a good even gallop. He kept on well all the way to the line and is probably better on better ground He got a bit lonely up the straight and could be a smart horse.”
