After their success in the opener with Yulong Baobei Michael Halford and Shane Foley struck again in race three at Dundalk when Suvenna landed a gamble in a first-time hood in the Fundraising Made Easy At Dundalk Stadium Fillies Maiden (Plus 10 Race).
Backed in from around 7/1 earlier, into 2/1 favouritism for this seven furlong event, Suvenna, representing owner Antoinette Kavanagh, was never far away.
The daughter of Arcano — sire of race two winner, Arcara as well — led a furlong out and kept on well under pressure inside the final furlong for a one length verdict over Ionization
“We put the hood on her to settle her as she was keen in Naas and she nearly settled too much as Shane said she feel asleep turning in,” said Halford.
“She's a lovely moving, good actioned filly and it's nice to win a maiden with her.
“She's a big scopey filly and should improve through the year.”
