The well-touted Nurpur didn't do much wrong in the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown so you can be sure that Harasiya (5s into 7/2) is very good as she comfortably eclipsed the aforementioned favourite by two and a quarter lengths.

Chris Hayes rode Nurpur with the confidence that the market suggested was behind Kevin Prendergast's charge but she couldn't change gear when Harasiya arrived at the furlong pole.

Lady O'Reilly had Nurpur in here but she was also represented by Reglisse and that one caught the eye coming home well for third.

John Oxx trains the Johnny Murtagh ridden Harasiya for His Highness The Aga Khan and he said: "That was a nice run and she's won nicely for her first time.

"It was a good effort too considering that she was slowly away. We liked her but you're never sure how green they'll be first time.

"She might be one to aim at the Moyglare – we'll run her in a month's time and then think about the Debutante in August – we'll see how she measures up in her prep race.

"She's by Pivotal and they like a little ease so we mightn't run her on good to firm.

"Her dam (Hazariya) was quite a good filly – she got a fracture in the Oaks – she stayed well." (GC & EM)
