Redstone Well the 5/2 favourite, made most to win the Treacy's Pharmacies Handicap in Ballinrobe for jockey Amy Jo Hayes.

The four-year-old gelding raced prominently and soon picked it up as Hayes dictated her own fractions.

She went for home approaching the final furlong and her mount responded generously. The pair were always holding Chocolat Blu (9/1) who ran on well in the closing stages to get to within half a length of them.

There was a two-and-a-half-length gap back to third-placed Pont Audemer (8/1) who held every chance in second entering the straight.

Trainer Danny O'Sullivan said: “He’s a great little horse and it’s great for the owner (Richard Ahern, from Castletownroche) who bred him as well and would be local to me.

“Amy gets on well with him and her 7lb claim means a lot. She’s light as well so, if we run in a better race as a light weight, she will be able to claim as well.

“He has one pace but can maintain that and is versatile ground-wise. He won on soft ground before and was second in Dundalk twice.”
