Fri 29th May 2009, 18:55

The Dave Marnane trained Kaplinsky justified favouritism when winning The Barclay Communications IT Services Handicap under Gary Carroll for owner John Jeffers.

Carroll raced the daughter of Nashwan in behind the leaders was short of room from over 1f but the pair soon switched to outer and stayed on well to win by ? lengths.

Winning trainer Marnane said afterwards, "She did it well and would have been a very unlucky loser if she hadn't have got out. I'm delighted with the way the season is going and we're having plenty of winners. A lot of our horses want good ground and hopefully we'll have some nice horses to run in the next couple of weeks."
