Law Rebel eventually makes the breakthrough
Those that took the short odds about Law Rebel in the concluding "Littlewoods Ireland" Ladies Day Competition Friday 26th I.N.H. Flat Race at Killarney would have always been on reasonably good terms with themselves and the five-year-old son of High Chaparral eventually got the job done by two and a half lengths under Kate Harrington.
The four-times previously raced Jessica Harrington-trained odds-on favourite led from a quarter of a mile out and the outcome was soon beyond doubt as he went on to beat Tirmoyle (his jockey Pa King got a 4 day ban for using his whip with excessive frequency).
Mrs Harrington said: "He's been knocking on the door and he did it well there. He is getting stronger all the time.
"He'll go hurdling now and as Eamonn (owner Eamonn Phelan) had him ready to run in a point-to-point as a four-year-old, he has plenty of jumping done."
