Lee rewarded on Driveheron
Billy Lee, unseated from Vasoni shortly after the start in the opener at Sligo, had lady luck on his side later in the afternoon as he deputised on Driveheron for the unwell Shane Gorey and Pat Carey's filly ran out the short head victor of the Race Sponsorship At Sligo In 2011 Handicap.
The daughter of Catcher In The Rye got involved in an exciting tussle with Aliwiyya in the final furlong when the pair got close and Driveheron had to survive a steward's enquiry before being confirmed the winner.
Driverheron is owned by Michael Fitzpatrick, an English-based business man that is in the pub game and she is trained by Pat Carey. The three-year-old, returned an 8/1 shot here, is now two wins from five starts for Carey, having been in training with Andy Slattery as a juvenile. She appreciates a bit of cut in the ground.
