Following a 'hot' apprentice has long been a favourite of many punters. Those in the Killian Leonard fan club were rewarded with a 25/1 winner (from 33s) as he brought home Bobskier for Ger O'Leary in the concluding Next Racing At Fairyhouse June 29th Handicap.
Out quick after a hurdles run at Punchestown a week back, Bobskier, an eight-year-old Big Bad Bob mare, bridged a gap going back to June 2014 when she'd gained the last of her four previous wins.
She hit top gear in sufficient time down the outer in the straight to come through from mid-division and get up for a length and a quarter verdict over Ondamoura
"She had a run over hurdles at Punchestown last week and had a right blow after. It's harder to get her fit as she gets older," disclosed O'Leary.
