Master Matt registered a fifth career win at Dundalk today as the Matthew Smith trained gelding landed the Crowne Plaza Hotel Leading Jockey Handicap under 7lbs claimer Sam Ewing.
The son of Slade Power was today winning for the third consecutive month and following the race, trainer Smith stated “he ran a cracker here last week and I thought Sam was brilliant on him. He gets on well with him.
“He takes his racing very well and is as hardy as they come. He can go five, six or seven and is very versatile ground wise.
“Since I put the tongue tie on him he’s turned inside out winning three times and been placed.
“He used to act up in the stalls but the hood seems to have sorted that out.”
