McManus & Kiely on the mark again
The J P McManus John Kiely alliance won their third beginners chase in five days as Head Of The Posse justified favouritism in good style under David Casey at Ballinrobe.
Sent off at 4/6, Head Of The Posse led away from two out and he sprinted away from Spring The Que to prevail by fourteen lengths. The Waterford stable also sent out Wise Old Owl and Taking Stock to score in recent days in the famous green and gold – both those scoring at the Listowel Festival.
Kiely said: "That's a nice start. He was always going in that direction (chasing). He seems to have a little bit of class. He made a bit of a mistake at the ditch but otherwise he was good. We'll have another day out of him please God."
