Moran wins aboard Macnas
The Bramblestown Handicap sprang a surprise with 20/1 shot Macnas coming home in front in the hands of Davy Moran.
Winning trainer Jim Bolger enjoyed a good thirty minutes with his charge Gile Na Greine finishing a creditable third in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Moran produced the daughter of Orientate with a challenge from over one furlong out.
The filly responded well to pressure to lead close home and deny Goldarover by half length.
Neil Magee who was representing winning trainer Jim Bolger said afterwards: "She did it well, the step up to a mile really helped."
"The blinkers played their part too in that they helped her concentrate. She'll probably stay over a mile."
