Mulhern scores again with Benefit Gale

Sun 18th Jul 2010, 16:59

Benefit Gale made a winning debut for trainer Jeffrey Mulhern at Tipperary today when belying odds of 25/1 to win the Ballyisteen Hotel & Golf Resort Hurdle, under Paddy Kennedy.

Mulhern, who trains five horses in Co Laois and has held a licence for five years, later stated "I bought him two and a half months ago (formerly trained by Liam Burke) and I'm delighted to win with him. I've no plans from here as today was just a starting point."

Mulhern's last runner, Frankford at Kilbeggean on June 21, was the trainer's first winner.
