Thu 12th Aug 2010, 19:50

Joseph O’Brien recorded his first Group win when winning the Desmond Group 3 Stakes aboard the Aidan O’Brien trained Beethoven

O’Brien who was never too far off the pace took up the lead travelling well over a furlong and a half out and kept on well for an easy success over Dandy Boy

Winning jockey O’Brien said afterwards: “He travelled well and quickened up well. He was the class horse of the race.”

“I never had to use my stick and the ground can’t be fast enough for him.”

It was a double on the day for the trainer and jockey who took the opening race on this evening’s card with Why.
