Liclash under Shane Shortall, caused a 16/1 upset when winning the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today but the win didn't take his trainer Stephen Ryan by surprise.

The son of Diamond Green stayed on well on the run-in to edge a head win over You Can't Catch Me with a half length back to Mossy Island

Afterwards Ryan, who had earlier trained Hows Patsy to win this month, stated "he was only beaten five lengths the last day and he was on the brink!

"He had been disappointing but his work has clicked since I changed his routine and trained him out of a field 24/7.

"He is a super leaper and I can't wait to send him over fences. He'll have one more hurdle run and will then go chasing - he is built to jump."
