Pinwood made light of the very testing conditions to score on debut in the Exchange Inn Ballybunion & Kevin Broderick's Bar Listowel Median Auction Maiden.
Available at 12/1 this morning and supported into 8/1 by the off, the Bushranger gelding broke smartly from his wide draw under Shane Foley.
The Ken Condon-trained juvenile headed the front-running Laws Of Spin a furlong out, and kept on well to record a two-length verdict. Silvercups was a further three quarters of a length back in third.
Foley said, "We always liked him and he was showing a nice bit at home. He was ready to start but we just weren't sure about the ground.
"He did things right, he jumped (from the stalls), he travelled and he picked up. It's holding heavy ground, and it's hard work."
