The Henry de Bromhead-trained Poker Party pulled away in the closing stages to run out a convincing winner of the two-mile five-furlong handicap hurdle at Tramore.

Dylan Robinson bounced out to make the running on the 4/1 joint favourite but had to relinquish the lead when headed by Charle Brune at the final flight with a circuit to run.

He was in front again after the third last and saw off the challenge of Chateauneuf Du Pap from the last to record a five length success.

The winner was following up on a win at Clonmel last month. Joint market leader Roja Dove came under pressure before the second last and eventually finished sixth.

"The penny has finally dropped with him and he's improving. It was a super ride from Dylan and he seems to like that ground and stays well," said de Bromhead.

"I'm delighted for his owners the Acheson's and it's nice to get one here. I haven't really looked much further than today. It's tough old ground even though he went through it no bother.

"Dylan gets a great tune out of him. He's riding really well and it's great to have him back. He's a big part of our team, and I'm delighted to see him doing so well."
