Sean O’Keeffe completed a double as easy-to-back Poseidon (7/2, from 13/8 overnight) won the featured coopsuperstores.ie Handicap Chase.

The versatile 7-year-old chased the leaders before coming through to lead after the third-last. Grange Walk soon gave chase but a mistake two out didn’t help his cause and Poseidon stayed on well to beat the former by three and a half lengths.

This was a first victory over fences for the Born To Sea gelding to go with three wins over hurdles and two on the Flat.

O’Keeffe had won on his only other mount of the day, Chicago Time and brought his tally for the season to 24.

Winning trainer Charles Byrnes said: "He was unlucky in Listowel (unseated), it was one of those things, and this is was a nice pot to win.

"The handicapper gave him a fair chance and he'll run in whatever two mile chases pop up. That looks his job and there is one at Fairyhouse in a few weeks.

"Good to soft ground is ideal for him."

He added "Philip (son, leading up the winner) will be out for a good while yet as he did vertabrae damage in a fall. But he is up and about which is the main thing."
