Ridayef appreciated the better underfoot conditions as he got off the mark over hurdles in the opening maiden hurdle at Downpatrick.
Robbie Power produced the gelding to lead after the last in the 2m2f contest and he stuck on well up the hill.
Michael Halford 's charge went on to record a two-length victory over 5/2 favourite Westhaven
The winner, fourth in a decent handicap hurdle at Naas last month, had been easy to back from 4/1 out to 5/1.
“It's the first time he's got his ground,” said stable representative Garrett Cotter afterwards.
“The owners have been patient with him and it's paid off today. He was due that and off that mark on the ground he might do another little job.”
