Rosebud impresses in Listed Corrib Stakes
No doubt Pat Smullen was happy with what he saw when he looked around on Yellow Rosebud at Galway

Yellow Rosebud (2nd here last year) supplied Dermot Weld with his sixth winner of the week when impressively landing the Listed Guinness European Breeders Fund Corrib Fillies Stakes under Pat Smullen (his fifth of Festival 2013) at Galway.
A third winning favourite of the day, on the back of a good day for backers of the market-leader yesterday, the well supported Jeremy filly (6/4 into 1/1) didn't have last year's heroine, Lady Wingshot to contend with on this occasion as that one came out due to the ground.
Pat Smullen was always up there forcing the pace on Yellow Rosebud and she left her rivals for dead into the straight. Snow Queen stuck to her task grittily for second and she did well to be only two and three parts of a length adrift of the convincing victor at the line.
Weld remarked: "We were pretty confident as she's a very classy and adaptable filly. We might travel with her with options in the US." (EM)
