Local trainer Dave Marnane was in the winner’s enclosure this afternoon when 6/1 shot Santo Padre came home in front of the West Tipperary Mental Health Association Handicap under Colm O’Donoghue for owners the Victor Partnership.

Winning trainer Marnane said afterwards, “He deserved that, he wants better ground and he hasn’t got it all year and that’s the best ground he’s got all season.”

“He may go to Dundalk next Saturday depending on how he comes out of this.”
