Jim Bolger's Irish 1,000 Guineas tenth placer Scriobh Nua justified odds of 4/6 in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown.

Kevin Manning did have to ask the daughter of New Approach to go and put her seal on proceedings from over a furlong out, which she did to the tune of four and three parts of a length from Encantador

"She had a real good run in Naas and I'd thought she'd progressed from that. It was a big step into the Guineas and she's still learning and I was very happy with the way she did it tonight," said Manning.

"Again in front she's having a look around and she's still learning the trade.

"She has plenty of quality about her, and plenty of size, and I just said to Jim that no matter what she's doing at the moment that she's a filly that's going to keep stepping up, stepping up, all the time.

"The more racing she gets the better she's going to get.

"It's drying all the time out there and it's quick but safe ground."

Meanwhile Bolger commented: "She has everything and you'd travel a long way to get a better looking one.

"We were learning on the job (in the Guineas) — nothing wrong with that.

"We'll go into Listed now and hopefully end up in Group races.

"She'll stay a bit as well — she has prospects."

The Stewards enquired into an incident during the loading procedure prior to this race where it appeared a horse was struck on the flank.

Evidence was heard from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. J.R. Banahan, Starting Stalls Team Leader, Mr. M. White, and Stalls Handler, Mr. E. Behan.

Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the evidence the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the IHRB for further investigation.

An Authorised Representative of Dermot Murphy, trainer of Love To Dream reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have a soft palate issue post race.
