Snow Fairy out of Pretty Polly
Heavy rain at the Curragh yesterday evening means the eagerly-awaited clash between Midday and Snow Fairy in the Stobart Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes will not take place today.
Connections of the latter had been concerned about the prospect of unduly soft ground for last year's English and Irish Oaks winner.
Her trainer Ed Dunlop said on his Twitter page: "Constant rain in Ireland has meant that Snow Fairy will now not run, great shame for everyone."
Snow Fairy's withdrawal leaves the Sir Henry Cecil-trained Midday to face six rivals headed by Aidan O'Brien's Misty For Me
Dunlop indicated the Coral-Eclipse and Lancashire Oaks are now under consideration for his stable star.
A dry night at the Curragh has left the ground yielding to soft for today's meeting.
