There is plenty of quality action on an eight-race card at Navan this afternoon with the return of star stayer Kyprios the main attraction in the SBK Vintage Crop Stakes.

Trained by Aidan O’Brien for Moyglare Stud Farm, he took the staying division by storm in 2022 when landing the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot and also enjoying Group 1 success at Goodwood, the Irish St Leger at the Curragh and a spectacular 20-length victory in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp.

The son of Galileo had an interrupted campaign last year and didn’t reappear until the autumn when runner-up in the Irish St Leger and also finishing second at Ascot.

Kyprios is as short as 1/3 for this Listed race against six rivals including Dawn Rising Run For Oscar and Yashin Purple Lily is a general 4/5 shot this morning to land the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Salsabil Stakes.

The Paddy Twomey-trained filly won on debut at the Galway Festival last year and made an impressive reappearance this term over a mile at Naas.

There is also pattern race action in the sprinting division with Givemethebeatboys a Group 3 winner last year and also placed at the highest level, making his reappearance in the Space Traveller Irish EBF Committed Stakes.

The Jessica Harrington-trained colt is a general 7/4 favourite but faces plenty of opposition including the Ballydoyle-trained His Majesty and impressive Cork winner Shandy

The action gets underway at 1.10pm and the going is described as good to yielding.

The forecast is mainly dry with the risk of an isolated shower.
