Sweet return to the Curragh for Stack and Lordan as Pollen claims Irish Lincolnshire
Pollen provided trainer Tommy Stack with his third win in the lucrative Irish Lincolnshire Handicap up the Curragh as jockey Wayne Lordan enjoyed success in the race for a second time aboard the four-year-old daughter by Orpen.
Stack and Lordan had five-years ago been triumphant with 9/2 favourite Tolpuddle in the one-mile contest and sent off a 7/1j2f for this years renewal, Pollen left it late but was in front when it mattered, denying long time leader Estrela Brage by just a head.
"She did it well in the end and we might step her up in trip now, ideally she wants 1m2f," explained Fozzy Stack, assistant to his father Tommy.
"We will see where we go from here, but we will try and a get a bit of blacktype for her now."
