Aidan O'Brien's Pacific Ocean made all in the concluding mile maiden at Navan to score by two and a half lengths at 7/2. Romantic Proposal the 11/8 favourite, could make no impression on the winner in the final furlong and had to settle for second.

He was five lengths clear of third-placed Prisoner's Dilemma who was a 33/1 shot.

“He did it well. He sharpened up a good bit from the last day,” jockey Emmet McNamara said.

“He was a little bit lazy in his race today but he's learning from run to run.

“He jumped and travelled smart, I got a breather into him just as he was rounding the bend for home and I was able to keep increasing it all the way to the top then. He found the line well and stayed well.

“He showed a very good, willing attitude. The cheekpieces are on just to help him travel and sharpen him and they did that today.

“He actually is very genuine, it was a nice performance and hopefully he keeps progressing.”
