Tough Rose and Jane not to be denied

Jane Mangan pulled victory from the jaws of defeat on the favourite in the finale, as her mount, Barnahash Rose (13/8 favourite) landed the Boyle Mares (Ladies) Flat Race.
Supplying her trainer, Jonathan Sweeney with a first victory under Rules, the Exit To Nowhere mare needed to be tough as she was off the bridle for much of the last circuit.
However she was always looking likely to turn an apparent bleak situation into something better from over a furlong out.
The point-to-point winner and Tipperary third came through on the far side to 'nail' a pair of opponents under the stand's rail. The verdict was a neck and a head over Pace And Passion and Ardkilly Vixen
Fermoy operator Sweeney said: "Jane knows her well and you couldn't have a better rider. The mare is real tough and she stays and jumps well too.
"Today was the plan." (DM & EM)
