Two from Two for Taipan
So impressive on his chasing bow at Naas, Made In Taipan made it two from two over the larger obstacles when bringing up a double for Davy Russell (had earlier scored on Clan Tara in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Novice Chase.
The two to one on market-leader was soon in front and his fencing was a joy to behold. However Follow The Plan wasn't easy to shake off and it was only going to the last that the outcome looked fairly sure for the odds-on shot. Tom Mullins' charge needed to be ridden out to beat Follow The Plan (giving Made In Taipan 4Ibs) by two and a half lengths. There was a distance back to Financial Reward who made mistakes.
Mullins said: "That was another great display, that's two good rounds of jumping. I think the second is a good horse. My fellow will probably go for the Durkan New Homes Novice Chase (Leopardstown on St Stephens Day)." (EM)
