Jockey Samantha Bell partnered her eighth career winner when steering Wot A Shot to win the MSR Supporting Naas Hurling Apprentice Handicap at Naas this evening, for his employer Kevin Prendergast.
The son of Refuse To Bend raced prominently before taking up the running early in the straight. Bell and her fellow apprentice riders were without whips in the race but kept the gelding going for a four and a half lengths win over the well backed Vasoni (14/1 – 6/1f, having finished second at Tipperary yesterday).
Bell's win was her third of 2012 to add to five last year while Wot A Shot was gaining a maiden win, on his eighth start. Prendergast was not immediately available for comment.
