The Peter Fahey trained Xsquared claimed his sixth career win at Limerick today when landing the coral.ie Bet & Watch Irish & UK Racing Live Beginners Chase under Kevin Sexton.
Xsquared was held up by Sexton before producing his challenge in the straight, eventually edging past Akito on the run-in for a snug three parts of a length win.
Fahey wasn’t present for the win but Anthony Byrne, representing the winning The Adders Partnership, later commented “we’re a group of four retired maths lecturers from DIT and this is our only horse. We’ll talk to Peter (Fahey) about plans but he could go to Killarney next and could also run back on the flat.”
The aptly named winner is a son of Exceed And Excel.
