Review roscommon 13th Jun

< Redera completed a hat-trick in the most convincing of fashions when scoring under a motionless Ruby Walsh to land the Gerry Igoe Land Drainage Handicap Hurdle at Roscommon.

Walsh was happy to look on from mid-division on Tony Martin's charge, before cruising into contention on the wide outside two out.

Walsh never had to move a muscle on the 5-4 favourite as he cantered away, coming home five and a half lengths ahead of Strain Of Fame

The Boylesports Hurdle turned into a tremendous duel as Domination got the better of Fuchsia Belle in the home straight.

Jessica Harrington's mare cut out most of the running, but when Domination (11-8 favourite) moved upsides at the second last, the writing looked on the wall.

Fuchsia Belle wouldn't give up, though, and Davy Russell had to conjure up a strong finish from Charles Byrnes' charge to emerge a length and a three-quaters winner.

Francis Flood's Take A Shot finished best in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon Handicap Hurdle, as the 8-1 chance battled well to beat Onzo Mor by half a length under Mark Walsh.< Vastitas got off the mark at the 11th attempt with a pillar-to-post success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Always in command under Kevin Manning, the 15-8 favourite responded well to the jockey's urgings to come home six lengths in front of Betrothed

Tommy Stack and Wayne Lordan may have had to settle for second with Betrothed, but they made no mistake in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden with Great Huzzah.

The well-backed 9-4 favourite swept into the lead after the turn for home, and though market leader Tashqeel gave chase, Stack's charge kept finding more and went on to win by three lengths.

Seamus Fahey's Orpens Peach (4-1) just got the better of Ashton Rose and Lansdowne in a tight finish to the Ladies Day At Roscommon 4th July Handicap, winning by a head under Shane Foley.
