Timesareachanging recorded a 25/1 surprise on his hurdling debut when staying on strongly from the last to land the NavanRacecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle.

The Mahler gelding won a point-to-point for Colin Bowe and was placed in a bumper at the Limerick Christmas meeting on his debut under Rules.

Philip Donovan ’s mount made most of the running in this 2m6f event and there were still plenty in contention after the penultimate flight.

Andy Slattery ’s charge held a slight advantage over Court Compliance at the last but kept on strongly on the run-in to beat that rival by a length and three-quarters.

The 13/8 favourite He Can’t Dance kept on one-paced, a further three-quarters of a length back in third.

Slattery said “The lads bought him in Cheltenham at the sales out of Colin Bowe's for 19,000 (guineas); he won a three-runner point-to-point.

"Good staying horse, loves that ground. Nice horse.

"The run at Christmas brought him on. He was off the track a long time before that."

When asked about future plans, he replied "I was thinking the Albert Bartlett, if it hasn't closed yet. The boys would like to go to Cheltenham. Whether he's good enough, but he will stay and he will jump.

"We'll give him another run somewhere over three miles, a stiff three miles would suit him."

The syndicate members shouted "We'll supplement him for the Albert Bartlett!"
