Preview tramore 30th May

Fri 29th May 2009, 14:00

With the start of Listowel's fixture put back, Tramore takes centre stage and the action kicks off at 2.15.

The most interesting event with a view to the future could be the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden for three-year-olds, in which Joanna Morgan's Genesi attempts to confirm the promise of last week's Clonmel second.

But Extreme Impact and Lahoob, representing top stables, made encouraging debuts at Navan and Leopardstown respectively, while John Oxx starts off Samovar, who shaped well behind high-class opponents last term.

Oxx saddles Sheridaniya in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and she is probably the one to beat, given that she placed third behind Wanna at Killarney and the winner was not disgraced in the Gallinule last weekend.

Zafferana also carries the Aga Khan's colours and is interesting as she tries turf for the first time, while fair hurdler Bannow Rose won't be found lacking for stamina.

Hamalka is maintaining a good level of consistency and went down by the shortest possible margin at Ballinrobe on Monday evening.

She's up 3lb but is capable of conceding weight all round in the Lisselan Fillies Handicap, with Jack Rio the biggest threat if she is fully wound up for her return.

Not Til Monday is another holding his form well and goes to post for the Graun Hill Handicap. The mile-and-a-half heat has also attracted recent Clonmel scorer Vivien Lee from the Dermot Weld team, while John Oxx gives Adaiyra her handicap debut after the obligatory three runs in maidens.

Add into the mix Suprise Vendor and Frosted Grape, who were first and third in a race at Clonmel recently, and the scene is set for the most competitive event of the afternoon.

Eye Candy is better known for his exploits over fences, but reverts to the level in the August Festival 13th To 16th Handicap and has Lus Na Hoiche to beat.
