Declan Queally confirmed this morning that Mares’ Novice Hurdle contender Carrigmoornaspruce is all set for the Cheltenham Festival, but she will run in the colours of Victorious Racing and James Bowen is to take the ride on the mare.

The six-year-old daughter of Diamond Boy was a winner of three bumpers and was last seen at Leopardstown at Christmas, where she was second to Gordon Elliott-trained Skylight Hustle in the Grade 1 Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle.

Speaking to Niall Tierney from IrishRacing.com, Queally confirmed:

“Carrigmoorna Spruce will go to the Mares’ Novice Hurdle. She’s been in great form at home, and we are delighted with her. She has won three bumpers, which is hard to do, and she has Grade 1 form over hurdles.

"Victorious Racing have bought her, and she will run in those colours at the Cheltenham Festival, where James Bowen has been booked to ride her.

"Jerry McGrath approached me about the idea, and after speaking with the owners, it was agreed. We’re really looking forward to running her, and she’ll love the dry ground - the drier the better for her.”

Victorious Racing's colours have been seen in England with Hardwicke Stakes winner Isle Of Jura and Copper Horse Stakes 2nd Caballo De Mar.
