Hotazhell on course for Irish Champion Trainer Jessica Harrington’s recent Group 1-winner Hotazhell has come out of last month’s German success well and is on course for the Irish Champion Stakes next month. The Silverton Hill Partnership-owned son of Too Darn Hot landed the top-level Futurity Stakes at Doncaster as a juvenile in October 2024 but had endured a frustrating and winless spell since then, before scoring at Munich in July. At Munich, Hotazhell landed the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis - Bayerisches Zuchtrennen under regular rider Shane Foley, when defeating the Charlie Johnstin-trained Timeforshowing by a nose. Harrington mentioned “it was great to get a win out of Hotazhell again, last time, it really was. “He came out of it great and we’re really happy with him. He goes to the Irish Champion Stakes now.” Leopardstown’s Irish Champion Stakes is run over the same 1m2f-trip as the Munich race, on September 12, with 28 entries for the race.
