The three-year-old has enjoyed an excellent summer for trainer Fozzy Stack, proving his surprise success in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot was no fluke by following up at Group One level in the Prix Jean Prat. He headed back to Deauville for anther top-level assignment, but after racing on the lead for much of the one-mile contest he faded into sixth place, leaving Stack to consider races over shorter distances going forward. “He’s come out of France all right and we’ll see where we go next time,” he said. “He’s in the Haydock race (Betfair Sprint Cup, September 5) and that will probably come a bit quick. Maybe we’ll look at the Prix de la Foret (at ParisLongchamp on October 4) or the British Champions Sprint at Ascot (October 17). “He ran well for seven furlongs the other day, he just didn’t get home unfortunately. We’ll definitely drop back in trip now.”
