He said he kept quickening from two out all the way to line. Even a stronger gallop would have suited him. He seems to go on this quick ground for a big horse. Dylan said he’d be better with a little cut in it. They have mentioned National Stakes and you would have to talk about that with him. For the size of him I think he’s going to be a cracking three-year-old. It’s phenomenal what he has done at his age. Joseph is in Saratoga with a runner tonight and a couple tomorrow.
Leopardstown Thu, 4th Aug, 2022  Gear Up It was a good tough performance. He's been improving with each run all year and I'd say that's as good as he's been all year. I think a mile-and-a-half is probably his perfect trip. I'm very pleased with the win. He ran well the last day but I think a mile-and-a-half is probably his optimum distance. Dylan gave him a lovely uncomplicated ride. This lad always fights and he fought on hard today. There is the Kilternan Stakes back here on Champions Weekend and he's also in the Caulfield Cup. I'm not sure if he can do both. I think the quarantine may start before the Kilternan, so it might be one or the other.
Naas Mon, 1st Aug, 2022  Voce Del Palio He's been a good horse and I thought his price was a bit disrespectful to him,. Declan gave him a lovely ride and he handled the drop back to six really well. He's a solid horse, he was just dropping in trip which we weren't sure about but he obviously handled it well. He was always going to get it well and was dropping back from group company. He's in at Tipperary on Friday but I'd say we'll probably go to the Curragh for the Sportsman race, the sales race. This is a huge pot and it's fantastic. The race is very well supported every year with such a big field and is always a very strong race. State Of Rest was fourth in it a couple of years ago. Everyone always runs the horses that are qualified. It's a fantastic race and credit to Ballyhane, the EBF and everyone who puts the money into it. I was sixth in it as well (with Montesilvano) and I'd say he's a stakes horse. There is no doubt the second is a stakes filly and you need a stakes horse to even be placed in it.
Curragh Sun, 17th Jul, 2022  Nusret He had been running consistently well and we've been learning about him,. The race set up lovely for him and Mikey gave him a lovely confident ride. We could look at one of those nice handicaps on Champions Weekend. There is a mile-and-five race in Leopardstown but he might be better in a handicap off his rating.
Curragh Sun, 17th Jul, 2022  Vernet She's a good hardy filly. She had a good run first time, over five-and-a-half, in a good maiden and we thought when she went seven she'd show some progress,. She had to be tough there today. It was very close, just a bob of the heads. It's great to win a maiden with her. We'll head for some black-type now. I thought she showed plenty of pace so I wouldn't be against coming back to six with her.
Curragh Sat, 16th Jul, 2022  All Things Nice She was tough. We dropped her in trip and took a chance,. She's a nice filly, she's hopefully progressive and will probably go into stakes company now. She's in the Goffs race so she'll probably end up there as well. She could probably go back to seven the next day. We had to be positive today after winning at a mile last time and I thought Mikey gave her a very good ride. He went along and saved a little bit. I'm delighted to win another race with her and hopefully she's a filly going the right way.
Leopardstown Thu, 14th Jul, 2022  Point Gellibrand I suppose he was entitled to win on his form,. He was gelded since the last day and he'll probably step back into a nice race the next time. It probably wasn't ideal making the running but it's nice to get his head in front. He'll get confidence from that. He's rated 93 and he's not going to go up for that, he might drop him a few pounds!. There is a listed race back here over a bit further and then there are handicaps on Champions Weekend worth a few quid so he could go for something like that.
Leopardstown Thu, 14th Jul, 2022  Caroline Street She's a nice filly and she had a lovely trial. She's won really well,. She was green and slowly away at Dundalk but we trialled her over six just to sharpen her a little bit. I thought today she broke much better and she travelled really sweetly through the race. She was very impressive. She got a little unbalanced but once she hit top gear she ran through the line very well. She'll be jumping into a stakes race and I'd say she'll have no problem coming back to seven.
