Nowt dramatic about Marnane's Dundalk brace
Back in his riding days David Marnane delighted many a punter winning three bumpers, including the championship event at Punchestown in 1993 on Dramatic Touch. There was nothing dramatic about his opening race double at Dundalk this evening but again plenty will have been pleased to see two well-fancied runners deliver in as many races. Fri 17th Nov

Foley completes double on Settle For Bay
Trainer David Marnane registered his second win of the new flat season when his Settle For Bay made a winning handicap debut in the Leopardstown Family Raceday Handicap at Leopardstown today, and completing a double under jockey Shane Foley. Sat 08th Apr
It's great to have him back. To be fair to him he's had an awful lot of problems but class is still class. I know he was off a good mark. The horses weren't right during the summer and he's had a good break. His first run was very good and he's obviously improved a lot on his second run. I fancy that he'll keep going forward now. At the moment we have no problems and that's always a good thing. We might look at the Hunt Cup again next year. He'll have another run of two here and we'll see where we land then. We're a long way from a Hunt Cup obviously but he's on the way back anyway.
David Marnane
He's won his four and I'd say we'll give him a break now. He's obviously an exciting horse for the summer when he fills out another bit. He wasn't that green today and I liked the way he coasted up and did his job. Long term he could be a Royal Hunt Cup horse. He could come back for the Premier Handicap on Guineas weekend (at the Curragh) and there is a race for him in Naas as well.
David Marnane
he’s still green but I think he will be a very nice horse.
David Marnane
He's a very nice horse. He's huge and doesn't have an awful lot of experience, and even the last day he just had a look when he got there. He doesn't know a lot about it but he's definitely going the right way. I'm delighted for Mossy Casey and Denis McGettigan who own him and have been good supporters. It's great that they have a nice horse. He'll be a nice horse next summer. He could come back here to teach him another bit.
David Marnane
we thought a bit of him last year but our horses weren’t right last year and he was a bit jarred up after one run.
David Marnane
