Jamie Codd and Junior win Kim Muir
Top Point-to-point rider Jamie Codd landed this afternoon's concluding race at the Cheltenham Festival The kim Muir Chase aboard Junior.
The David Pipe trained favourite was strongly backed throughout the day and made no mistake in coming home 24 lengths clear of his nearest rival.
Stablemate Faasel finished second as he also did in the race last year while the Dessie Hughes trained Deal Done under Robbie McNamara took third place.
This was a second winner of the afternoon for Pipe trained runners after the earlier success of Buena Vista in the Pertemps Final.
Codd said: "I thought there was something coming to me, but David had said to keep going on him because he's tough and he'll keep going.
"He does everything right. He suits the build (for the National).
"Maybe he could go for an Irish National first over three and a half on good ground but I'll leave that up to them - I'll do the steering.
"It's nice to ride a horse that picks up when you give them a kick in the belly."
Pipe added: "He's a tricky customer and you have to let him think he's the boss.
"We booked Jamie some months ago and he's been down to school him.
"He won't get into the National this year but he might go next year.
"Royal Ascot will possibly be next for him.
Irish and UK trained horses are now level on 10 winners each going into the final day of the Festival tomorrow.
