Slattery brings his winning form to Roscommon Trainer Andy Slattery’s fine run of form continued at Roscommon this evening where Letiza landed a narrow win in the 12-furlong Oran Handicap. It was Slattery’s second winner of the day after the success of Killeemore Lad at Downpatrick, and his fifth winner since Friday. Ridden by his son Andrew, the All Stars Racing Syndicate-owned six-year-old led approaching the furlong-pole and stuck at it well to beat her fellow 7/1 chance Stellar Moment by a head. There was less than a length separating the first four horses across the line. “We don’t have her that long, about three months,” said Slattery. “She was in England and wasn’t running well there so they brought her back. “She’s run well on every run for us and it was a good run in the Curragh the last day. I’m delighted to win for the lads, she’s after being in a lot of stables. “He (Andrew) thought he was in front too soon. He said he wouldn’t hit the front again as soon as she was idling a bit. “I think she’ll go on soft ground too.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
