Formscan By Michael Graham - The unbeaten GERRI COLOMBE can land this Grade 1 prize. Gordon Elliott's stayer has annexed a pair of bumpers, a maiden hurdle and a novice hurdle before starting his chasing campaign with an easy victory at Fairyhouse last month. He will plough through the soft ground in Limerick. Willie Mullins knows what is required to win this top-level race having snared five of the last 10 renewals. His Kilcruit was far from extended in winning a beginners' chase by a wide margin in Punchestown. Afterwards, jockey Paul Townend commented that he has filled out and was looking to take the fences on. He was Grade 1 placed over hurdles and should be a tough opponent. Adamantly Chosen and Authorized Art also represent Mullins and can pick up decent cheques.
