An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding a report to the starter from rider Ben Jones that there was an object propped against the first hurdle in the back straight prior to the start of the race, which was then retrieved by a member of the ground staff and as a result delayed the start of the race.
The Starter, Ben Jones and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
After hearing the evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, Conor Brace reported that Pink Eyed Pancho (GB), placed third, hung right-handed; the Veterinary Officer reported that Captain Trigger (GB), which was pulled up, had lost its left-fore shoe.
