Permission was given for OASIS SHOWCASE to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final furlong when the winner Magic Stone (IRE), ridden by Tom Marquand, interfered with Rose Of Spain (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rob Hornby.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Magic Stone (IRE) as Magic Stone (IRE) shifted slightly towards Rose Of Spain (IRE), brushing with the filly on two occasions, with Magic Stone (IRE) always appearing to hold Rose Of Spain (IRE) to the line.
With the official distance of a head between the runners at the line, the Stewards could not be satisfied that Rose Of Spain (IRE) would have finished in front of Magic Stone (IRE) with an uninterrupted run to the line and therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as the movements were minimal, and Marquand was quick to correct his mount on the second occasion.
