THE TRACK RADIO ON DIGITAL & DAB MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for Trinculo (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.

Silvestre De Sousa, the rider of PERCY’S STAR, placed fourth, beaten by a nose for third place, appeared to briefly ride less vigorously approximately half a furlong out before continuing with a strong riding effort.

After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, De Sousa’s explanation that his horse was hanging left-handed, a fact in which he reported to the Clerk of the Scales, and he had appeared less animated to re-balance his mount, and in his opinion, lost no momentum, was noted.

Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that PERCY’S STAR, placed fourth, hung left-handed.
